The Lagos State Government, as well as other states in Nigeria, flagged off the administration of the 2nd dose of Covid 19 vaccination on the 28th of May, prioritizing health workers and other Covid 19 frontline workers as usual.
General Hospital, Ikorodu was not left out in the vaccination exercise. The 2nd dose exercise, which was concluded recently, had all the hospital’s medical and non-medical health workers vaccinated.
Dr. Taiwo Hassan, the Medical Director, General Hospital, Ikorodu, like he did during the first dose administration, reiterated the fact that the vaccine is hundred percent safe. Thus, he urged all staff, as well as Ikorodu residents in general, to disregard rumours and misinformation about the vaccine. He equally enjoined them not to let down their guard concerning the corona virus. All safety measures such as regular hand hygiene, physical distancing and proper use of face masks must still be strictly adhered to after taking the vaccine.
